Jon Schmidt's Concert

On Friday, September 10 I FINALLY was able to go to a Jon Schmidt concert. It was absoutely amazing and I loved it. First row seats right in the middle, best spot ever!

Jon Schmidt's All of Me song! I have yet to perfect it, still working on it. Its only part of it because the camera kept dying and this was my favorite part of the song. You can always go on his website http://www.jonschmidt.com/ to listen to some of his songs or youtube them.

Having fun with my phone camera - this is whiteboard and I thought it was so cool!

Jon Schmidt standing up and playing.

Road Trip - now one of his favorite songs to play. Only part of the song - its now on youtube his whole song, and I love this song as well...I just love all of his songs!

Waterfall was one of the first pieces I loved! Got me started to like Jon Shcmidt.

So Jon Schmidt said if you can tell me these notes you can come up and we can do a jazz song. So he played a Blues scale: C, C#, D, Eb, E, F, F#, G, Ab, A, Bb, B. By the time I was half way done saying them this kidin the back yelled out all of them...but I wouldn't even be able to do it becuase I was never part of a jazz band. :( but I knew the notes though. But he did really good. So for all the string players: a cello and any strig instrument can play jazz :) thats for all those who say we can't.

Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson played Love Story meets Viva la Vida, U2 meets Pachebel's canon.

So the cello part is very very boring in Pachebel's canon its just the 8 notes (D, A, B, F#,G, D, G, A in that order) for forever and ever and ever and it just never ends. So Steven Sharp Nelson was showing how to play it... you sleep :) This goes out to all the cellos who ever had to play that song - I'm sorry.

U2 Meets Pachebel's Canon -the more fun way to play it on the cello

"Well, Sounds like people know this song, steve. It’s a youtube master that we put together and we found out that we did the permissions wrong. Oh that was fun. Still trying to sorta that out by the way. Yes its 2 separate songs that we are trying to do tonight we were going to do it for you. So the first song we will play will be Love Story by Taylor Swift and then the second song will be Viva la Vida by Coldplay."
not in this recording - they played it twice. But before they switched into Coldplay he said "now Viva la Vida with this cool intro" haha
"Feel free to sing along" - he had a problem to say that in the beginning. haha. Sorry for the bad sound, so I added what the song should sound like, the camera died and so I went to my phone and since I was right next to the speaker it didn't really help much.

So a funny Joke that Jon Schmidt said that Steven Sharp Nelson was like....what? in this viedo.

Joke:
What does a Duck and a bicycle have in common?

Steven Sharp Nelson playing Love Story meets Viva la Vida

Jon Schmidt being himself - playing the piano crazily :)

Steven Sharp Nelson and I

Jon Schmidt, I, and Steven Sharp Nelson

And just for the record I got there at 4:15 and the concert didn't start till 7:30 so I got to hear the sound check and everything and afterwards before the concert started Steven Sharp Nelson came out and we had a good conversation - and afterwards before the pictures were taken, Jon Schmidt and Steven Sharp Nelson both gave me hugs for being there so early.
For those who were there in August of 2009 in my ward, I play A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief on the Viola and that was written by Steven Sharp Nelson. - So cool!

Answer to the Joke:

They both have handle-bars....except the duck.

hahahahahaha!!!

I had such a great fun time - It was sad that no one was there with me so if anybody could come that I knew, I missed you but I went by myself :( But I still loved it!

If no one has heard of the Love story meets Viva la vida, here it is:

BYU vs. UW

Saturday September 4, was the BYU vs. UW game. Justin and Danielle, and then Robert and I went together as a date and afterwards went to Red Robin for dinner. So around 230 that day I went to Danielle's apt in Provo, UT and I did my nails. and hair. Since we are from Washington State Danielle was being half and half - half UW and half BYU so she wanted me to join her even though I don't like UW I'm a WSU fan. So Danielle made me wear it so I did. :)
BYU is Justin's hat (Danielle's bf) and the Huskies is the ribbon that was in Danielle's and I's hair.
Them playing.
This is where we sat - they were good seats I guess, not the best but it was still fun.
Danielle's hair. My hair looked like that too - we had it in high pig tails and then ribbons in them. it was so amazing.

Us together - I started to with the cool setting with my camera on my phone.

My Toes. :) My fingers were the same.
It was tons of fun!! Oh and if haven't heard BYU won 23-17 :)

Ropes Course

On Friday, September 3. Jackie and Eric took me to this rope course thing and it was so awesome. It was a rock climbing wall, zip-line and canoing. Oh and a plus side to this rope course was that I was on a date with Chris...who was very attractive! He was so cute!
Jackie made it to the top...only took her.. you know 15 seconds :)

Eric also made it.

I made it to the too but I don't have that pic with me.
It was really fun and I had a great time!

ECLIPSE!

Tuesday night/Wednesday morning I saw the midnight showing of Eclipse. It was better than the first two movies that made. Danielle (who got me into Twilgiht) and I went to the Monroe Galaxy theatre - I do have to say it is the bes theatre ever! Even better than IMAX. Just because they have better seats - way more comfortable - so you can sleep while waiting for the midnight show to come on. haha. Well I just have to keep blogging - sorry that i don't have pictures for this - but I will get to see it again on Tuesday with Natalie and if I like it again for the second time then its worth watching.

Bree Tanner - Eclipse, Me Reading??

Who is a fan of Twilight? Who has read all the books? If you have read the 3rd book, Eclipse you should also read "The Second Short Life of Bree Tanner" - if you plan to watch the movie that comes out on June 30 - read the book!

So Natalie - my friend, brought this book over to me on Tuesday and told me to read it, for people who know me I do not like reading. She told me to read it before I watch the movie - and mind you that the movie comes out next week and so I had to finish it. Well I started it that day and I finished it that day! Can you believe that, I read a book in ONE day!

Well if you haven't read it - I recommend you reading it. Its good and I really enjoyed it and you will too!

Oregon Coast

Over Father's Day weekend I went to the beach, Rockaway Beach, Oregon with the Hanks. So much fun! On Thursday we drove down to Oregon and stayed with Danielle's Mom's sister for the night. Then on Friday we went on the beach and flew kites, skipped rocks, and just had fun on the beach. Saturday was a beautiful day and spent most of it on the beach in the goregous sun! Monday we drove back to Washington and i just didn't want the vacation to end. I think I need a vacation from the vacation.

Danielle and I on the beach.

The pretty sky on the coast - Saturday

We had the really big marshmellows to make smores - they were REALLY BIG! as you can see, this is comparison to the regular marshmellows.

There were these people that built the sand turtle and a sea horse too - it was pretty cool.

the same people built a VW beetle.
I had a fun time and I wanna go back. I love the sun!

Trying to catch up

So it has been a long time since the last time I blogged… as you can see it has been since February. So I will try and do my best to get all caught up and try and explain my absence of blogging. And now that it is June everyone has said - You need to update your blog, you haven't done anything since February. Well that got me thinking - well I haven't done anything since then. Well of course I have..duh...so here you go.

Well at the end of January I met a guy…yes a guy. It was at the BYU-Idaho devotional with Elder Nelson.

Since everyone wants to see a picutre why not just post it up on my blog...sounds good so this is Brandon and I in front of the troll in Tremont.

So to make a really, really, really long story short I will just say that we met January 26, started to hang out and became good friends then started dating on February 25, and then he came out here to Seattle in the middle of Spring semester because I came back home after Winter semester. He is so amazing to come out and do that.

Well back to winter semester. So I took 8 classes, got 4 A’s, 2 B-‘s and 2 B’s. So I did pretty well but I’m still trying to do better like always. So graduating in Mathematical Education with a minor in Exercise Sports and Science Education (Physical Education).

Now in April. So I just got back home from school and as soon as I got home I attempted to break the world record of the largest ensemble playing the same tune all together under one roof. Did that with Jackie and David and had a blast.

Just a little less than 400 people like 398 or something like that all got together.
We of course beat the world record so I can now say that I’m a world record breaker :D I worked one day at the job I still have that I have had for about 2 years now at Kohl’s department store. Then the next 4 days I was with Jackie and Eric in Florida at Disney World! It was so much fun and I had a super fun time. Though Jackie may not know that I did because I was sorta...well, not in a good mood, but I did have a fun time and she did get my mind off of things and I was able to just to relax. Though after a trip with Jackie you of course need a vacation from your vacation.

And now in May, still working at Kohl’s and I didn’t do much, expect Brandon came to Washington but you already read about that.

The Space Needle, Brandon and I went there.

Now that it is June and I am in the summer league rifle shooting with David, Dad, and Granddad. It has been three weeks since it has started and the first week I got a 250, 2nd week 284 and guess what!?!?!? 3rd week… 351!!! Oh ya! That’s what I am talking about! I was so excited that night.

So now that is all done I am here down in Oregon with my “real” family as my mom would say for the weekend of Father’s day and am going to the beach in Rockaway. But I will of course will blog about that hopefully soon by the time I get home.

Well so sorry that it has been SO long but I hoped that I recapped everything and told all the good/sad parts about my life since February.

oh just a quick thing of course - I'm still working at Kohl's and doing all the many projects that we have at our house.
